Henry will share his vast knowledge of researching by giving us a checklist of tips that you need to know as you trace your family tree.

May  5, 2015May  5, 2015 - Jenni Salamon "Unearthing Your Roots with Ohio’s Papers on Chronicling America" - Over 318,000 pages of historic Ohio newspapers covering 1836-1922 are available for free online, representing 58 counties and over 70 newspaper titles!  Learn how you can use this content on the Library of Congress website Chronicling America and find clues to your family history. Jenni Salamon is the Coordinator for the Ohio Digital Newspaper Program at the Ohio History Connection.  She has been with the Ohio History Connection since 2009 and currently manages their newspaper digitization efforts and serves as a Reference Archivist in the Archives/Library.  She has a BA in English from Ohio University and an MLIS from Kent State University.  Her areas of expertise include newspaper digitization as well as traditional and digital newspaper research on various topics.

Let's Do This Again!

The Society sponsored another Who Do You Think You Are raffle

bringing in over $600 for genealogical donations to the Tiffin Seneca Public Library.  The winner was drawn in June - Linda Hall Ellinger. Her deep Seneca County roots will be researched and shared November 3rd, 2015.

Although the winning subject will not be flown to different parts of the U.S. or Europe to examine their roots, the trip to their past will be a virtual one presented at our November 3rd meeting in the Kalnow Room at the Tiffin Seneca Public Library.

JANUARY 2015  UPDATE!!!

ATTENTION MEMBERS: In order to keep our newsletter in print, we have discussed several options and possibilities.  We would like to have 4 or more people help with this task, by having them each write one or two pages, once each quarter.  We feel this would be less of a burden put all on one person.  If you would like to help us with this task, please email Becky Hill OR Dustin Austin for more information. Thank You!!!
