Skeleton or Patriot - Who Do You Have in Your Closet?

Have you watched those TV shows like Who Do You Think You Are and wondered what could be found on your family? Now is your chance to get local family history experts to research your genealogy and it may only cost you $5.00!

The Seneca County Genealogical Society is holding a raffle, selling tickets for a chance to have our special committee research your genealogy and present their findings The drawing will be held at our June 4th, 2013 meeting. Last year, Jane Wagner of Fostoria won the raffle and the Society presented her "Who Do You Think You Are Seneca County" program.  Becky Hill and Steve Frank of Tiffin and Ronald Gase of the Netherlands, along with other Society members pulled together stories and facts on Jane's family which included a War of 1812 spy, tailors, fruit farmers, grocers, sailors, Indian traders, trappers, Civil War soldiers, World War I soldiers, cartoonists and balloonists!

The lucky winner will be presented with a PowerPoint presentation of our researchers' findings along with a binder containing the data, photos and various stories that they uncovered.

Although the winning subject will not be flown to different parts of the U.S. or Europe to examine their roots, the trip to their past will be a virtual one presented at our October 1st meeting at the Tiffin Seneca Public Library.

Raffle tickets can be purchased from any genealogical society member or you can contact Jerry or  Bev Wheatley at 419-447-9628 or jerbev47@att.net. Or buy your tickets at any of our upcoming meetings at the Library.

Tickets are $5.00 each; or 6 for $25.00; or 10 for $40.00. Click here for tickets: SCGS raffle tickets2013.pdf

All proceeds go to the non-profit Society and will be used to promote genealogy in Seneca County. In the past, the raffle has made it possible to donate funds to the Tiffin Seneca Public Library for HeritageQuest.com, a genealogical website that all Seneca County residents can access for free through the Library's website. For further details contact Becky Hill at rhill7@woh.rr.com
